6 December 2018 12:11:54The world of Weird Al Yankos music and his latest record, Penny Stock, are both a little overwhelming at times, especially when it comes to the lyrics.
But that’s what Yankovich is trying to show on his new EP The Way We Were.
The album is due out on September 11 via Epic, and features collaborations with a host of hip-hop artists, including Kendrick Lamar, Young Thug, and Future.
In the past, Yankowicz has collaborated with Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
But this time, he’s working with Kendrick.
It’s a good start, and Yankowitz explains why he chose Kendrick as a collaborator on Penny Stock.
The rapper’s verses are so beautiful, and he’s really fun to listen to, Yanksy explains.
The way he speaks on the record, he talks about life and being in your prime, and it’s something that’s been very important to me in my life and music.
I wanted to capture that.
But Yankowksy says he didn’t expect Kendrick to be on Penny.
“I don’t even know who Kendrick is, but I really feel like he’s one of my favourite rappers to ever come out of the city of Los Angeles, which is cool,” he says.
“It’s just great to be able to collaborate with somebody like that.”
And what’s his collaboration with Drake on Penny?
Yankovsky explains: “Drake was the first artist that I ever met in the studio, and that’s something we talked about a lot.
We always talked about the best times we’ve had together, and we definitely talked about his music and how it’s inspired me.
He’s really interesting, and I’m really excited about him.”
